Christmas Calories
Nov 28, 2024Often December comes with a change to diet and lifestyle.
Quite rightfully so.
You may find that within the festive period your time is spent socialising more which changes your energy balance.
Most who have created a routine with training may only find a few sessions off kilter and therefore output isn't affected too much.
But without mindfullness, awareness and hunger cues you could find yourself worrying about the excess calories.
Now rewind 6-8years ago I was that coach. CRINGE
- With the calorie comparison posts to save you 100 cals off a mince pie
- That tried to teach the bank account analogy of hoarding calories and saving it up for these festive events.
- That leaned into coping mechanisms that soothes this treat system,
- That helped you "earn it"
Truth is I apologise.
If you can't look back at your content 8-10years ago and have the ick then i think it's a good sign of growth.
But all I did was teach you how to put a plaster over the following:
- Over your poor body image
- Over your obsession with thinking about food and your body all the time
- Over helping you micromanage every crumb and calorie
- Over the never ending pursuit of making yourself smaller.
I didn't help you address the root cause. Because i'm not sure what your definition of health is but it certainly wasn't listed above. But if you're reading this now I know you want more life.
You want peace.
You want confidence and self esteem.
To feel worthy. In whatever way you've attached that to.
You want connection. To yourself and others.
So before you think of tracking your advent calender (HELLLLLLL NO)
Or find yourself in a supermarket spending hours reading labels and calories on new food.
Please have a watch of this.
And let's achieve health and happiness in 2025 without the inner monologue of "i'm not good enough" and constant food noise.
